Oak & Onyx Counselling Welcomes You
"Great oaks from little acorns grow."
About
Historically, oak trees have been symbols of longevity, strength, stability, power, justice, and honesty. The phrase, "Great oaks from small acorns grow.", means that big growth can come from small beginnings.

The onyx stone has been symbolically associated with focus, willpower, and protection. Onyx is known, to not only motivate people to begin their journey, but also protect them on the journey towards their goals.
Oak & Onyx Counselling hopes to offer these very qualities to clients who are on a journey of their own.

I’m Kristen MacLean! I am a Registered Psychotherapist licensed to practice in Ontario. I hold a Master’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Throughout my academic and professional career I focused on specializing in trauma-informed care, intersectional and anti-oppressive counseling, and working with individuals involved in the justice system. I love to read fiction books, play music, unwind with video games, and get outside in nature whenever I can. I live in North Bay, ON with my husband and our cats! Alexandra Albert, MScS, MACP
Hey/salut, I’m Alex Albert (she/her). I provide a holistic and integrative approach to help you come home to yourself. I specialize in relationships, sex/intimacy, inner child healing, self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, and authentic self-empowerment. With a bilingual (français/English) Master of Health Sciences and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a background as a speech-language pathologist, I’ve been immersed in the field of wellness since 2015 and have a grounded understanding of psychosocial development across the lifespan.
